L’Arche London is an interfaith organization creating homes, programs and services for people living with intellectual disabilities. We are people with and without disabilities, building community together here in London, Ontario. L’Arche was founded by Canadian Jean Vanier and our local community and part of the international federation of 140 L’Arche communities in over 40 countries around the world. Locally, L’Arche is a partner agency with the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.
The L’Arche London Gathering Place is the home of an innovative and creative Day Participation Program – celebrating the gifts and serving the unique needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities who are seeking meaningful daytime and evening participation in their community. Programs and services seek to inspire the growth, interdependence, and dignity of all those who participate. There are classes and programs in the Arts, Music, Drama, Volunteerism, Adaptive Cooking Classes, the Bonjour Café, Physical Wellness, Dance, there is access to nature trails, gardening and more. All programs are designed to nurture the vocational, educational, and social needs of people in our local community.
