Community Living York South
Community Living York South (CLYS) is a non-profit organization that supports people with intellectual disabilities to be active citizens in their community by providing a variety of services to meet individualized needs. Our mission is to “empower people with an intellectual disability to live, learn, work and participate in their community” and work towards a society where everyone belongs.
CLYS is a pioneer in developing programs that enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. The organization provides residential and community participation supports to, over 300 people who have an intellectual disability. Additionally, we provide services and support to over 1,500 people and their families in our community outreach programs. These programs provide a multilingual comprehensive suite of services that support people in directing their own lives, promote self-sufficiency, increased opportunities, partnerships, well-being, and meaningful participation in one’s community. Over the past 65 years, we have seen many positive changes that benefit the people we support and their families.
